The Sales & Distribution department is headed by our Sales Manager. The company's Sales Department consists of over 40 Sales Representatives, managed by the 6 Distribution center Managers and headed by 3 Area Sales Managers. The Sales Department ensures the seamless availability of the company's entire range of products across the country, with the Sales Representatives replenishing stocks at over 300 Pharmacies every day.

SBL adequately compensates its Sales field force with attractive salaries, vehicles, allowances, medical insurance cover, and an excellent incentive system, thus ensuring that its field staff are always well motivated and rewarded.

SBL has one of the most efficient distribution systems ensuring coverage of all potential customers at periodic intervals, all over the island. The company covers over 1,600 pharmacies in the country, making the company's distribution chain a key element in product availability. The company operates six Regional Distribution Centers, of which 3 are company owned, in all the key regions of the country. All major townships are covered twice a month, and variable credit is extended to our customers as their potential allows.

The company's distribution centers are located in the major cities of Kandy, Galle, Kurunegala and Negombo which cater to all the related suburbs and peripheries, while other areas are catered to by strategically located centers in various parts of the country. Deliveries in Colombo are completed within 24 hours, with provision for immediate delivery of urgent orders.

Sales Outlets Coverage

The Sales Department's Pharmacies & Chemists Database has complete information on the nations 1,600 such outlets, including past sales data and purchasing records. This enables the Sales Representatives to maintain stocking levels at these outlets at optimum levels.

  • For new product launches - proper and adequate pre launch stocking is done per Company plan.
  • Fast moving as well slow moving products are monitored and the range stocked as far as possible.
  • Sales Representatives carry stocks at all times and ensure delivery at customer's door steps.
  • Prompt settlement of customers' claims and prompt delivery of all orders - in Colombo morning orders are delivered in the evening - evening orders are delivered next day.
  • Around 1,600 Chemists are covered on a regular basis. Major towns are visited twice a month and outlets in Colombo are covered once a week.
  • Sales Representatives itineraries are developed in accordance with that of the Medical Representatives to ensure timely and adequate supply of stock.
